The STEFANO RICCI company was founded in 1972 by Florentine designer Stefano Ricci. Passionate about ties, he decided to create his own designs at a very young age.
His creations were immediately received enthusiastically when he first participated in the Pitti Immagine Uomo fashion exhibit in Florence. In this international setting the STEFANO RICCI tie collection emerged thanks to the innovative, yet very classic nature of his patterns.
Stefano Ricci had transformed the role of the tie from a simple accessory item to a real protagonist of menswear.
Quality is of paramount importance for Ricci who even now, after 40 years is still excited about finding the thinnest yarn available and exploring new colouring systems. The yarn is woven at the lowest possible speed to avoid any extra stress for the fibre. And just before the finishing of the cloth Ricci removes it from production and keeps it in a room to “decant” it like wine, in order to recover all the sense of the natural fibre. A proponent of all things ‘handmade’ Ricci believes that anything made with hands resonates with an energy that cannot be found in technology aided production. “Something made with so much passion and care cannot be put on sale. It’s like discounting passion,” reasons the 65-year-old founder who has a unique style of working. Instead of hiring a young workforce Stefano invested in masters to craft his shirts and ties. These masters then took on young apprentice to pass the skill sets. “Hiring old people ensured that I learnt a lot from them. That was a good way to start and we continue that practise even today. Some of the young employees have been with us for almost 38 years and are now masters. They are an invaluable asset to the company. I have learnt from them how to select and appreciate beautiful skin (crocodile and calf) with my eyes closed,” says Ricci. Within vintage or pre-loved, each item's condition can be different and can be scaled using the following guide:
New with tags or new in box (NWT or NWB): Pristine, never used condition. Tags are still attached.
New without tags or new with no box (NWOT or NWOB): No wear the item. Never used condition but without tags.
Excellent: Gently used pre-loved. Only slight signs of wear. Does not diminish the overall appearance of the item.
Very good: Well-maintained. Shows minor signs of wear that are consistent with light use.
Good: Shows signs of regular use but no significant flaws.
Fair: Show signs of regular use with additional imperfections such as holes, stains, ribs, etc.
Returns and Refund Policies:
Returns and refund requests are received two weeks within delivery for any reason. Buyer is responsible for sending back item first in its original condition. The seller then is responsible for refunding item's final price. Please note that in order to be refunded, you must initiate your return requests no later than within 14 days from delivery and the item needs to be exactly in the same condition as you received it. If this is not fulfilled, we are unable to send you a refund. We don't take responsibility for mistakes made by courier service such as delays, loss, damage, etc.
