I must admit, as much as I like Summers, Fall is my favorite season for several reasons. I like how the colors are changing in nature, I like the gentle, powerless touch of the Sun, and yes, most of all, I like changing my wardrobe and dressing up in soft wool, corduroy, velvet, leather again... I think I can express myself the best in Fall in terms of style. I am a bit old-fashioned, classy girl who like traditional outfits and uniforms. But not boring. I always find a piece to spice up these trusted, timeless pieces with a catchy element.
Enjoy my selection of Fall vintage favorites!

Capsule Pieces
I know, if it's about simple, white, cotton button-downs, I am crazy. I own about 20 pieces, each one of them is a bit different than the other. I can combine them with virtually anything and they really-really give me a polished look. I also admit I trust in pieces that are made in Italy or in France and these button-downs are made out of the finest material.
I look at them more as an investment. Like this current favorite from Nara Camicee. The elegant, black velvet embroidered details make the outfit a bit more playful and traditional and complement well a simple black skirt.
A walk in the city, museum visit, coffee shop, date, everything is covered if you wear the right pieces. A basic black skirt, a white button-down shirt, a practical crossbody purse, and a comfortable pair of shoes. From morning to the evening. I would do it!
Anna wears Nara Camicee cotton embroidered button-down shirt, Richard Warren black rayon skirt, Bally mini crossbody purse, Vince black leather slides, and Gucci vintage sunglasses.
Elegance
Black Staples
Black and white pieces are always the most important pieces in one's wardrobe. They can be combined easily with anything and they give the ultimate elegant look to any outfit. White cotton button-down shirts, a black blaze, and skirts are your best friends when there is no time to pull out something more elaborate.
This look is the updated version of the first, basic look, the white shirt+black skirt idea. I added this fantastic 80-90s Saint-Laurent velvet, quilted blazer to them, and I am ready to start the evening everywhere!
Anna wears vintage Saint-Lauren black velvet blazer, Nara Camicee cotton button-down shirts, Richard Warren vintage black skirt, Vince leather slides, Bally vintage mini shoulder purse, and Gucci sunglasses.
Casual Elegant With Jeans
City Chic
The best thing about jeans is that you can combine it with everything. The previous looks are re-imagined with your favorite jeans to create a more casual elegant look. The blazer and the white button-down shirts are the same, as well as the little crossbody purse but we replaced the black long skirt with ripped jeans and the black flat slides with black suede heels. Meeting or business, it's perfect for everything.
Anna wears Saint-Laurent vintage velvet, quilted blazer, Nara Camicee vintage white button-down shirts, Sam Edelman ripped jeans, Nine West black suede heels, and a black leather vintage purse from Bally with Gucci sunglasses.
A Modern Woman
All Together
Modern in my glossary does not mean, someone who wears only the latest trends and the newest pieces. Modern means, someone who follows current trends, not only about fashion and style but everything else. Someone who knows that things are connected and fashion, dressing up is no longer separated from concepts like workforce, recycling, globalization, tradition, and responsibility.
Introducing Fall colors to our otherwise traditional outfits: the classic white button-down, blazer and jeans combination again but with spice. The blazer jacket truly calls for cozy evenings and chilly mornings. It's from Byblos' 80-90s collection and you don't see it here, but has a beautiful embroidered back. The black slides was replaced with a brown one from vintage Manolo Blahnik, and the outfit got a feminine touch by the vintage silk Hermes scarf and the big leather tote bag from vintage J. Crew.
Anna wears Sam Edelman jeans, Salvatore Ferragamo red vintage wool blazer, Nara Camicee white cotton button-down, Roccobarocco vintage belt, Hermes vintage scarfs, J. Crew vintage leather tote, Manolo Blahnik vintage slides, and GFF vintage sunglasses.
The Wool Skirt
Basic Pieces
What you desperately need for this Fall (or for any cold weather) is a good quality wool skirt. My choice for the season is from vintage Byblos. I like the cut, I like the high-waisted feature and most of all, I like the warmth and elegance of it.
I might be a bit old-fashioned but I cannot help, I really like good, soft, high-quality wool skirts, like this vintage piece from Byblos. I just put a white cotton button-down shirt of my choice and my favorite slides, Voilá! Classic and timeless.
Anna wears Byblos vintage wool skirt, Nara Camicee front pleated white cotton top, Manolo Blahnik slides, Max Mara sunglasses, and GFF watch.
A Fall Girl
Warm tones
Although it is a classic Fall color, you got to be careful with brown, in my opinion. Too much brown will make you "copper", so you want to make sure that you choose the right pieces with the right tones. If there are no other colors, I personally always mix brown with black to avoid the all-too-old look. Black is elegant but cold on its own, brown is warm but old on its own.
Nevertheless, this corduroy pants from Gucci, the Armani blazer, the Roccobarocco bag, and the CK suede boots are definitely not "old" but to make sure, I wear it with a white button-down shirt and a yellow vintage Castelbajac belt.
I personally like Fall because of the color palette it brings with itself. You can take your soft velvet, corduroy, wool and cotton pieces again and combine them endlessly.
Certainly black is very elegant but brown has its charm and warmth in it as well.
Anna wears Armani vintage blazer, Liz Claiborne white cotton button-down, Gucci brown corduroy pants, Calvin Klein suede ankle boots, Roccobarocco mini doctors bag, J.C. de Castelbajac vintage belt and GFF vintage sunglasses.
Chic and Not Cheap
A Bit of a Mystery
When I mentioned mixing brown with black, this is what I meant. My "rigid" black look with the vintage Armani silk top and the vintage Armani wool trousers are softened with the purse's and boot's warm brown tones. Then, I can wear this outfit with brown sunglasses and a watch with brown straps as well. Whether the French or the Italian are more elegant, I let you decide that. It is certain that both gave extraordinary designers to the world to admire them and to long for their masterpieces.
Anna wears Emporio Armani silk vintage top, Armani black vintage wool trousers, Escada pony hair shoulder purse, Max Mara sunglasses, and Calvin Klein ankle boots.
The Signorina
The True Woman
If you saw an Italian movie already, you know that there is something about those Italian women. Old or young, they all have a certain dignity in them, they respect their husbands, loyal to their families and always dressed up. This look reminded me those true woman in Italy, loyal, strong to their families, and always stylish.
The pieces are tricky here: the dress is a vintage piece and is made in the US. The leather jacket is also a more affordable piece from Banana Republic. The shoes are Italian from Via Spiga and is part of my vintage collection, and the purse, sunglasses and scarf are luxury brands from Prada, Gucci, and Hermes. Si!
Anna wears California vintage dress, Banana Republic black leather jacket, Hermes vintage silk scarf, Prada black vintage leather tote, Via Spiga black vintage suede heels, and Gucci vintage sunglasses
Vintage Dream
Economic Choices
Let's be honest. One of the reasons I love vintage because it's so economic. You already know me, I never liked following fashion rules and trends, and I never liked compromising quality for second-tier items although my budget does not always allow me to buy poison expensive luxury pieces. Thank God, I have a good eye, and I can pick the ONE piece out of a big pile of thrift. That happened when I picked the pieces for this look as well. The dress is a lucky-find vintage piece and was made in the USA. I just enhanced it with a luxury wool blazer from vintage Ferragamo, and vintage leather purse from France. I must admit the shoes were more on the investment side, they are from Prada, and again,I am wearing my vintage oval shape Gucci sunglasses from the 90s.
So, why vintage? Because it looks unique and cool, because by buying vintage you partake in global recycling and thus help someone in Asia or other parts in the world to be valued more for their labor. Because you honor heritage and tradition. And because you can save a lot of money!
Anna wears California vintage dress, a wool blazer from Japan, Prada patent leather heels, red leather vintage shoulder purse, and Gucci vintage sunglasses.
Big Scale
Hiding in Black
I was really looking forward to be able to show this piece and outfit. We have this fantastic, super soft black velvet leggings pants and matching mock-neck sweater from vintage Gucci. I could not resist not playing with the idea how I would I wear this if I needed to travel on the airplane. It's perfectly comfortable yet very elegant and chic. I matched it with a comfortable leather slides from Vince, you know, because you got to take off your shoes anyway at the border, the oversized vintage Prada tote that fits everything in it, and of course vintage Hermes scarf because of your hair, and to hide those jetlag circles, vintage Gucci sunglasses. I really got you covered for this trip.
Anna wears vintage Gucci leggings pants and mock-neck top, Vince slides, Prada tote, vintage Hermes scarf, and vintage Gucci sunglasses.
The Pink Piece
Catchy Pink
We all know how important is to have at least one pink piece in your wardrobe - and I would not go with more than three, too much pink is just too much, after all, we are not grown-up plastic dolls... But one or two pieces can create a huge difference in a normally neutral or basic wardrobe. A cardigan, a blazer, a pair of shoes, a top, anything.
On the first pink-look, you can see my favorite and first-ever purchased vintage designer piece, back in time when online shopping did not exist yet. This is a feather-light white cotton and lace dress from Donna Karan from the beginning of the 90s. It's fun to wear it alone but I like to combine it with some catchy elements.
Anna wears a vintage Donna Karan cotton dress, a vintage bright pink, wool Ann Taylor bolero blazer, and Ivanka Trump pink suede slides.
The Pastel Pink
If you are a girl who likes pastel, this combination might be one of your favorites. The skirt is a classic pleated, A-line piece in pink, orange, beige, and white color palette, The top is a classic tank+cardigan in light pink again. Feel free to wear it even if you are no longer in your 20s. A girl is a girl forever who needs pink always...
Anna wears Faconnable vintage pastel pink tank+cardigan, Evan Picone vintage pleated skirt, vintage leather shoes from France, Gucci vintage white shoulder purse, and Maxmara vintage sunglasses.
The Real Pink
Every real woman knows how important to own a pink sweater, blazer, or top to make those gray days a little more vibrant and to add playfulness in your style. Here, pink was re-invented with true vintage pieces. The classic wool blazer in vibrant pink, and the classic wool skirt in baby pink combined with soft brown and cream colors and soft cashmere and leather.
Anna wears Ann Taylor vintage pink blazer, Jil Sander vintage top, Alcott & Andrews light pink vintage wool skirt, Escada pony hair shoulder purse, vintage leather shoes from France, and GFF vintage sunglasses.
The Pink Banana
That's exactly what I think when looking at the colors in this combination. The inspiration comes from the Emilio Pucci slides, look at its pink, green, black and other colors in silk! I just neede to find a matching pink jacket and a green purse to go with it and another vintage, budget-friendly, re-invented look is ready.
Anna wears Ann Taylor pink vintage jacket, Roccobarocco vintage coated pants, Roccobarocco vintage belt, Roccobarocco shoulder purse, Karen Kane linen print button-down shirts, Emilio Pucci silk slides, and GFF vintage sunglasses.
The Leather Jacket
A Trustworthy Solution
When the weather changes after Summer, we all know, there is one piece of outerwear that goes virtually with anything, you can wear alone or layer with other pieces, and it never goes out of fashion. That is the leather jacket. I picked up two of my current vintage favorites from the store, both of them are brown.
If it's vintage, we like the 70s, 80s, and the 90s styles the best. Just think about the 70s feeling of freedom that shines through a neon printed top like this one, or the comfort and power of the 80s with the big shoulders, and the 90s playfulness. We have them all.
Anna wears Samba vintage neon print top, Charivari vintage leather jacket, Land's End vintage belt, J. Crew high-raise white denim, Sam Edelman suede ankle boots, and MaxMara sunglasses.
On the more elegant side, this camel brown suede light leather jacket lifts up your wardrobe in an instant moment. I paired it with a vintage silk button-down and classic white jeans, elegant leather heels, and classy vintage leather purse.
Anna wears Barone Firenze vintage camel brown suede jacket, J. Crew high-waisted white jeans, Talbots vintage silk striped button-down shirts, Prada vintage ivory slingbacks, Salvatore Ferragamo 70s vintage leather purse, and GFF vintage sunglasses.
Denim
Another basic piece of your wardrobe is a good denim jacket. The denim jacket also goes together with everything, not for all occasions though. My favorite combination is teh all-white long cotton dress from Donna Karan with my favorite denim jacket from Bill Blass. The dress itself is very airy, almost etheral, but with a denim jacket, it suddenly becomes more alive and cool. To keep the classic feel, I choose white leather derby shoes from Prada.
Anna wears Donna Karan white cotton dress, Bill Blass denim jacket, Parad derby shoes, all vintage.
Traveling Back In Time
I remember back in the 90s, when I was a teenager, we so much liked to dress up in denim from head to toe. The all-denim-wear is back to our happiness as well as the belt purses. Make your choices!
Anna wears Sam Edelman ripped jeans, Bill Blass vintage denim shirt and denim jacket, Sonia Rykiel red vintage suede belt purse, Nine West maroon suede ballerinas, and GFF sunglasses.
The Bil Blass denim shirt got a twist here with a vintage J.C. De Castelbajac printed pants and the white Gucci shoulder purse and white heels from Versace.
Anna wears Bill Blass denim shirt, J.C. De Castelbajac "The Jatsons" printed cotton pants, Gucci white shoulder purse, Versace white patent leather heels, and Maxmara sunglasses.
Of Course Korse
Striped Dream
Summer is over but the fun should be not. With this fun, striped combination, you can take Summer's playfulness with you through Fall. It's a perfect piece for a transition, from silk to cotton, to leather...
Anna wears Michael Kors vintage cardigan and matching silk pencil skirt, Elizabeth & James ivory silk shirt, Salvatore Ferragamo vintage leather purse, Versace white leather patent leather heels, and Gucci vintage sunglasses.
The Icing on the Cake
The last piece is the most wintery but still playing with white and baby blue with some brown. A classic wool skirt suit from Iceberg. Young because of the length of the skirt but elegant. I added the Fendi vintage patent leather boots to the combination along with the Prada baby blue purse and a vintage Hermes scarf matching in color and adding a warm element to it. After all, it's still just Fall...
Anna wears Iceberg vintage white skirt suit, Fendi vintage white patent leather boots, Prada tessuto blue purse, a Hermes vintage silk scarf, and GFF watch.
